The prominent administrative and technical services organization Advanced Medical Management works with healthcare companies. In its daily duties, the business manages information for large-scale health companies. The company recently suffered from a data breach that could put a large number of people at risk as a result.
The Advanced Medical Management data breach occurred because hackers were able to infiltrate one of the third-party providers for the organization and use that connection to get into the data network of Advanced Medical Management. After infiltrating the network, the attackers were able to access the personal data of a huge number of people. Investigators aren't sure if files were removed from the network or not, but it's possible and very likely.
This data breach was first detected on May 11, 2023. The actual breach began on May 10, 2023, and persisted until May 13, 2023. During those three days, the attackers could have accessed and copied a huge volume of files.
According to the final count given by the investigators, 319,485 people could have had their information exposed in this data breach. We don't know if the hackers are misusing data from all those different people, but notices were sent out to everyone involved at the end of June to ensure they know the risks.
There isn't an official count for the number of Advanced Medical files that were impacted by this data breach. Much of the file network was vulnerable to the attack, so we suspect that thousands of files and documents were accessed.
