While sending out automated emails, employees at the Insulet Corporation unintentionally exposed some personal information about OmniPod DASH customers to marketing partners working with Insulet. It's suspected that there was an error in the programming operating the email autoresponder that enabled this data breach to occur.
This Insulet data breach occurred on December 1, 2022. At that time a small amount of health and private information was given out to partnering marketing professionals.
This data breach impacts a select group of Insulet customers that are currently using the OmniPod DASH service.
While no Insulet files were accessed, some confidential information was given out about many Insulet customers that are using the OmniPod DASH service.
