The MOVEit data breaches occurred at the end of May and the beginning of June 2023. During a few weeks, the information of countless organizations was taken, exposing millions of individuals to identity theft attacks, extortion, and other data-related problems.

Who Does the Breach Impact?

This data breach may impact as many as 134,000 students connected to the medical school and the University of Massachusetts system itself. Each of these students will receive a notice from the school explaining the breach and what potential problems it might cause.

How Many Files Does the Breach Affect?

We don't know the total number of UMass files taken in this breach, but we suspect that thousands of documents were involved overall. The university stated that it didn't lose school-related information, so we can only assume the documents taken were all related to students.
